Burdette Ketchum donates expertise and time to help at-risk youth

Agency selects Seamark Ranch children’s home as 2010 beneficiary of its charitable giving program

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– Burdette Ketchum has chosen Seamark Ranch, a faith-based residential home and education provider, as a beneficiary for the marketing agency’s HeartStrings charitable giving program. Seamark Ranch, founded in 2001, serves the needs of abused, abandoned and orphaned children up to 18 years of age.

Located on a 468-acre campus in Green Cove Springs, Seamark Ranch offers children the benefits and responsibilities of living and working in a farm-like setting—tending a garden, caring for animals and enjoying outdoor recreation. These responsibilities, combined with counseling and adult support from live-in houseparent couples encourage stabilization, healing and self-reliance.

“Our goal is to help Seamark Ranch build a marketing and communications foundation that can support the organization in its critical work both today and for years to come,” said Burdette Ketchum founder and Chief Executive Officer, Karen Burdette. “By partnering with Seamark Ranch, we can help make an immediate impact for an organization that is truly changing the lives of young people throughout northeast Florida.”

Burdette Ketchum will assist Seamark Ranch with its message strategy to help the organization expand enrollment referrals and donor support. In addition, Burdette Ketchum will develop a marketing roadmap for Seamark to correspond with its strategic plan for growth in the coming years. Burdette Ketchum expects to provide at least $25,000 in donations of professional time over the next three months.

Burdette Ketchum donates a range of services to help the nonprofit organization achieve its goals, including research, brand strategy and creation of key communication materials, such as brochures, websites, direct mail pieces, advertising and news releases. Burdette Ketchum has donated more than $400,000 worth of professional expertise in the 12 years since the HeartStrings program began.
