Internet marketing veteran joins Burdette Ketchum as Director of Digital Strategy
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Seventeen-year veteran of Citigroup, Melynda Batchelor, has joined Burdette Ketchum, a Jacksonville-based marketing consulting and communications firm, as its director of digital strategy. She will be responsible for developing and executing online strategies – including social media; website, intranet and extranet engagement and optimization; online sales and advertising; and e-mail and viral initiatives – for the firm’s clients as part of its interactive services team.
Prior to joining Burdette Ketchum, Batchelor spent her career with Citi serving in various roles. For 13 years she focused specifically on online marketing and moved up the ranks from project manager of online servicing to senior vice president of Internet and mobile merchandising. Throughout her tenure with Citi, she was instrumental in positioning its Internet properties as drivers for new accounts and referrals, avenues for improving customer satisfaction, and platforms for selling Citigroup products and services.
“Melynda has a true understanding of the important role the Internet and other online platforms play in achieving sales and marketing goals,” explained Will Ketchum, principal of Burdette Ketchum. “Her success and experience in harnessing the power of online marketing will immediately benefit our clients.”
Batchelor graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in computer and information science. A native of Jacksonville, Batchelor currently resides in St. John’s County’s Fruit Cove area with her husband and children.
